Visitors coming by train

5 min. walk from the south exit of Roka-Koen Station on the Keio line.

13 min. walk from the south exit of Chitose Karasuyama Station on the Keio line.

Visitors coming by bus

From Chitose Funabashi Station on the Odakyu Line
Take the Keio Bus to Chitose Karasuyama Station, get off at Roka Koshunen and walk 5 min.

From JR Ogikubo Station
Take the Kanto Bus to Roka-Koen Station or the Kanto Bus to Kitano via Roka-Koen Station (Roka-Koen Eki Keiyu Kitano), get off at Roka-Koen Station, and walk 5 min.

* The number of available parking spaces is limited. Please use public transportation when possible.

Equipment and supply availability

A multipurpose restroom is available on the first floor.

Ostomate facilities are available in the multipurpose restroom.

Two wheelchairs are available for lending.

A wheelchair compatible elevator is available.

The approaches to all facilities on the museum grounds is sloped. Automatic doors are used for the entrances and exits of the facilities.

Parking

Disabled parking spaces are available in the museum’s private parking lot (compatible with vehicles up to 2.5m wide, 2.2m high, and 2.5t in weight.)

For visitors with small children

There is a baby and kids area located in the Hon-to-wa library, including a nursing room.

The women’s restroom and multipurpose restroom on the 1st floor of the museum contain diaper changing stations.

One stroller is available for lending.

Assistance dogs

Guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs are allowed in the museum.

Discount program

Holders of Disability Certificates receive a discount on museum admission. Furthermore, up to one person may accompany them for assistance.

Persons with a Disability Certificate of university age or younger receive free admission.

Facility description

Library Hon-to-wa

Open: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

  • * Parents and children may enjoy picture books and children’s literature in the Baby and Kids Area that includes a nursing room.
  • * We may limit the capacity of the room during busy hours.
  • * Items may not be lent for use outside the museum.

Cafe Donguri

Open: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

  • (Last order is 3:00 pm for food, 4:30 pm for drinks)
  • Light meals are available including cakes and spaghetti.

Museum Shop

Open: 10:00 am - 5:30 pm

Requests for visitors

Please refrain from actions which may disturb other visitors.

Smoking is prohibited inside the museum.

Please refrain from eating and drinking inside the museum except the cafe.
However, beverages with replaceable caps may be consumed in the lounge space.

Please store full-size umbrellas in the umbrella stand, and collapsible umbrellas in a plastic bag.

Please do not bring large baggage into the exhibition rooms.

Rules on taking pictures or video in the exhibition rooms vary according to each exhibition. Please follow the directions of the museum staff.

There is a limit to the number of spaces available in the parking lot. Please use public transportation when possible.

In case of emergency, please evacuate in accordance with instructions from staff or the museum’s public address system.

Strollers and wheelchairs may be rented free of charge. Please inquire at the ticket counter.

Visitors may be accompanied by guide dogs, service dogs, or hearing dogs.
(However, please refrain from bringing pets with you to the museum.)

The Setagaya City public Wi-Fi service, Setagaya Free Wi-Fi, is available for use by visitors.
